A quarter of Gen Zers polled in February noted "not finding love" as their greatest worry, according to an EduBirdie survey of 2,000 participants from the generation. Finding a life partner was one of the biggest perceived challenges for 22% of those polled — a bigger concern for them than finding meaningful career opportunities. Some Zoomers seem to be getting married at younger ages and while they're jumping the broom and starting families, a number of unpartnered Gen Zers are dealing with anxiety about their romantic future. For Gen Zers looking for love, the playing field is a little different than that of Millennials when they were in their 20's. Really assess the quality of the connections in your life because loneliness can affect you even when you're surrounded by people.

While wealth can bring with it some unconventional problems — such as being denied an invite-only Ferrari and accidentally destroying swathes of coral reefs with a 300-foot yacht — most other problems that the rich face may not be as esoteric as we think. They dismiss rich people's mental health concerns as insignificant and of diminished importance," Paul Hokemeyer, a clinical psychotherapist who treats the ultra rich, told CNBC. Paranoia and distrustWealth can cause people around the super rich to view them as objects, Hokemeyer observed. People who are rich tend to be of higher social status, and those who live in diminished states of power are often drawn to them. Against this backdrop, the super rich tend to become more suspicious of people's motives in associating with them.

When I showed up, Linda, my host mother, picked me up from the bus stop and made me tea and crumpets. If I had a nightmare and woke my mother up, she would tell me to climb into bed with Rita. This year's college admissions cycle is wrapping up, and it's been eventful. Before high school seniors even started submitting applications in the fall, several factors were poised to shake up the admissions season. Separately, college students and administrators' responses to the Israel-Hamas war has brought even greater scrutiny to higher education institutions. And despite issues like the FAFSA delays, some colleges still wanted incoming students to make a decision — and a deposit — by May 1. Durso Finley and Burks Becker shared insights from what they've seen working with students and families throughout this unusual school year.

These deals could signal that AI is ushering in a new era for edtech companies, and VCs who invest in the space are excited about the renaissance. And Ednition, also one of Donnelly's portfolio companies, provides an infrastructure-as-a-service platform for other edtech companies to improve the data that goes into their AI models. Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, said Tuesday that it was shutting down its health care centers, a network that only last year it said it planned to expand. The retailer said in a blog post that its 51 health centers would close. The plans won’t affect the more than 4,600 pharmacies and more than 3,000 vision centers within Walmart stores. Walmart started the health-care clinic initiative in 2019 in Dallas, Ga., with centers providing primary care, labs, X-rays and electrocardiograms, counseling, and dental, optical and hearing services. In 2021, Walmart started offering a virtual option when it acquired MeMD, a telehealth provider.

Walmart opened its first Walmart Health clinic in Georgia in 2019, and then gradually opened more clinics next door to its big-box stores. Walmart struggled with high executive turnover and cycled through numerous leaders of Walmart Health. Going forward, Walmart will return to the health services it offered before the Walmart Health push: It will continue to operate its thousands of pharmacies and vision centers. Walmart Health marks the latest failed push into health care by a high-profile company, following the disbandment of a joint venture between JPMorgan Chase , Berkshire Hathaway and Amazon in 2021. Meanwhile, Amazon 's health clinic operator One Medical now has more than 125 locations nationwide.

“Are you pregnant?” reads the flier from the “Center for Assistance to Life” in the town. If you think the only option is abortion, it tells women considering the procedure: “Contact us! We can talk and together it will be different.”Soon, there may be more than just fliers in this and similar centers. The measure is essentially a restatement of a part of Italy’s 1978 abortion law, which emphasized prevention even as it legalized abortion. To that end, the law allowed the family counseling centers to make use of volunteer associations “protecting motherhood” to help women avoid terminating their pregnancies because of economic, social or family hardships.
